REGULATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL
FESTIVAL OF MUSIC FOR
CHILDREN AND
YOUTH “STARS OF SONG” 9th EDITION 2021
CURTEA DE ARGES - ROMANIA
Regulations:
Curtea de Arges City Hall and City Council, together
with the Center of Culture and Arts from Curtea de Arges “George Toparceanu”,
National Association of Culture Houses of Trade Unions in Romania and the Cultural
House of Trade Unions “C.D. Aricescu” Campulung (CCS) organizes between 25th
of August – 28th of August 2021 the 9th Edition of the
International Festival of Music for Children and Youth, “STARS OF SONG” Romania.
Purpose:
Festival aims:
Discovering
the interpretive talents and the musical values of the children;
Promoting
and stimulating the spirit of competition and teamwork;
Promoting
the music performed in the native language of the competitors;
Promoting
the image of the Romanian tourist product here and abroad;
Making
lasting friendships between the participating children through the
cultural-artistic exchanges that will take place;
Carrying
out an exchange of experience on ways of interpreting music and choreographic
techniques between the tutor teachers.
THE STRUCTURE OF THE CONTEST
INDIVIDUAL
INTERPRETATION
Age
categories:
The
1st age group: 6 - 9 years - interpretation of a song in the native
language or from the international repertoire, at the choice of the competitor;
The
2nd age group: 10 - 12 years - performing a song in their native
language or from the international repertoire, at the choice of the competitor;
The
3rd age group: 13 - 15 years - interpretation of two songs, one in
the native language and one from the international repertoire
The
4th age group: 16 - 21 years old - interpretation of two songs, one in the native
language and one from the international repertoire.
Prizes:
In each age group will be admitted 8 (eight)
competitors.
Awards:
For
each age category will be awarded: group trophy, prizes (first, second, third
place) and special diplomas.
The
Festival trophy “STARS OF SONG” will be awarded to a single competitor,
who through his evolution managed to stand out in particular (it will be
awarded to a single competitor who obtained the highest score, regardless of
age group, from the groups 3rd and 4th).
The
trophy of the Festival "STARS OF SONG - JUNIOR" will be
awarded to a single competitor, which through its evolution has managed to
stand out (it will be awarded to a single competitor who obtained the highest
score, regardless of age group, from groups 1st and 2nd).
The
trophy "Voice of the Festival - MARCEL PAVEL" will be awarded
to a single competitor who will stand out with special vocal qualities,
regardless of the age of the competitor.
Participation diplomas will be awarded to all
competitors. Also, as the case may be, special prizes may be awarded depending
on the options of the press, television and radio stations or profile
organizations, supported by sponsors.
The jury of the festival will be composed of
musicians, renowned performers and prestigious composers from Romania and
abroad, radio-TV producers, journalists, specialized teachers, as well as
representatives of the organizers.
The maximum grade and the minimum grade given by the
members of the jury for the performance of the competitors will not be taken
into account, the final grade being the average of the other marks awarded. All
decisions of the jury are final and irrevocable.
A.
The pre-selection phase: The
pre-selection will be done through the analysis by a specialized jury of the
audio-recorded performed pieces as well as the verification of the entire registration
file for the other materials necessary for the registration, sent by the
competitors.
There
is no pre-selection fee!
The
materials for pre-selection will be sent between 10th of June 2021
and 10th of August 2021, in electronic format to the email address: casadeculturacampulung@gmail.com
The mandatory materials required for pre-selection
are:
For
groups I and II, the song with which it will enter the competition, recorded,
positive and negative.
The
musical support will be in audio format with the performer's voice uncorrected
in the studio.
For
groups III and IV two songs (one in the native language and one from the
international repertoire), negative and positive,
The
musical support will be in audio format with the performer's voice uncorrected
in the studio.
Pre-selection
form completed in full and signed - Annex (* Personal data operated in
accordance with the provisions of GDPR-EU 2016/679)
Copy
of the competitor's and companion ID.
Color
photography, bust- in electronic format, very clear and recent, in JPEG format.
- Final Phase:
The participation fee is 70 Euro. It will be paid by the competitors who
obtained the pre-selection and confirmed their presence in the contest, during
the technical meeting (sound tests) on arrival, on the first day of the
festival.
The organizers organize and provide accommodation and
meals for the competitors!
For the good organization of the accommodation and
meals, the admitted competitors will confirm their presence at the festival.
For each companion in the case of minors, but also for
the companions of those aged 18+, accommodation and meals will be paid, a
package worth 100 euro / person (foreign competitors).
For competitors from abroad, the transfer is provided
by Henri Coanda International Airport, Bucharest, Otopeni - Curtea de Arges and
return.
The arrival at the festival of the competitors from
more distant cities from Romania or from abroad will be on 24th of
August 2021 with confirmation to the organizers.
The performers will compete in the song in the
negative orchestral version on digital support and LIVE voice. Negatives can
also contain vocal backing, but performed on a different melodic line than the
one performed by the competitor (especially in choruses).
It is also possible to accept your own accompaniment
with a musical instrument during the LIVE performance of the competition.
The organizers do not assume responsibility for the
copyright of the songs performed in the contest, nor for their related ones.
The contestant is solely responsible for any consequences that may arise as a
result of participating in this contest and must have the written consent of
the composer and lyricist on the assignment of copyright for broadcasting
during and after the festival. The competitor qualified in the final phase who
does NOT have the written consent of the composer (for various reasons) and
wishes to participate, will have on his own statement stating that the parents
undertake to bear any moral or material damages required by the composer as
following the interpretation of the song in a contest without his consent -
according to copyright laws.
Recommendations:
to
be age-appropriate songs competitor to express concerns and aspirations of
children;
the
evolution should be pleasant, contain original elements and incite the public;
intonation,
timbre clarity, vocal aptitude, diction and vocal emission to be very good;
age-specific
interpretive style regarding the expressiveness of the song and the content of the
text;
songs
from other musical genres are not allowed: ethnos, jazz, classical, symphonic;
the
costume is appropriate to the age of the competitor and the song chosen.
Any changes to the Regulations imposed by situations
independent of the organizers will be communicated in due time on http://starsofsongromania.blogspot.ro
and on the Facebook page of the festival.
