Regulations:
Arges County Council, Campulung City Hall, Cultural House
of Trade Unions “C.D. Aricescu” (CCS) and the Cultural House “Tudor Musatescu” organizes
between 31st of May – 3rd of June 2017 the 5th
Edition of the International Festival of Music for Children and Youth, “STARS
OF SONG” Romania.
Purpose:
Festival aims:
o Promoting and stimulating creativity, spirit of
competition;
o Interpretative talent discovery, children’s musical
values;
o Encouraging the creation of songs for children;
o Promoting music in contestants native language;
o Through the cultural and artistic exchanges which will
be made, we wish for strong friendships between children participating. Tutors
will have the opportunity to share experiences on how to interpret the music
choreographic techniques.
THE STRUCTURE OF THE CONTEST
The festival will have two sections:
1.
Interpretation section

individually
Age category:
o
6-9
years – category I
o
10-12
years– category II
o
13-15 years– category III
o
16-24
years – category IV
In each age group will be admitted 10 Romanian
contestants.
2.
Creativity section
In
the Creativity
section will only participate tracks entered the contest after pre-selection
and interpretation are the first audition. Track owners (composer or parents)
will send a sworn statement to this regard. Children will be awarded with
prizes I, II, III, and the composer will receive a diploma.
Recommendation:
Melody
and text must be appropriate to the age of the contestant;
Prizes:
For each age category there will be awarded trophy for
the age category, prizes (Ist, IInd, IIIrd)
and diplomas.
The Festival Trophy “STARS OF SONG” will be awarded to
a single contestant, regardless of the age category, whom by his evolution has
managed to be outstanding (will be awarded to a single contestant, the one with the highest score, regardless of the
age category).
Special awards may be granted depending on the options
of: media, television, radio stations and organizations, supported by sponsors.
Festival Jury: will be made up of musicians, prestigious composers
from Romania and abroad.
The
maximum and minimum grade will not be taken into consideration, the final grade
being the average of the rest of them. All jury decisions are final and
irrevocable.
A.
The pre-selection phase:
Pre-selection will be done by a specialized jury
through analyzing the interpreted songs and recorded on audio CD and by
checking the material submitted by competitors.
Ø
There is no pre-selection fee!
The pre-selection will take
place between 15th April – 20thMay 2017.
o
Two
recorded songs (one native language and one from the international repertoire -
mandatory):

Positive
and negative track support(they will be non-refundable)

The
musical support will be on CD in audio format(exclusively), the interpret voice
must not be corrected in the studio;
o
Pre-selection
sheet fully completed – Appendix;
o
ID
copy;
o
Photocopy
of birth certificate or ID – fi applicable;
o
Color
photograph – bust (the photograph must be in electronic format, very clear and
recent, JPEG format)
Participation
fee will be paid at
the pay office at CCS, during the technical meeting. The participation fee is 70 Euro.
The deadline for receiving the pre-selection material
is 18th May 2017 postmark. The materials will be sent to the

NOTE:
the materials are non-refundable!!!
The pre-selections results will be displayed on the
festival web-site http://stratsofsongromania.blogspot.ro and on the Facebook page by 25thMay 2017.
Ø Organizers ensure accommodation and meals for minor competitors
and 1(one) attendant.
Ø For attendants of competitors over the age of 18 years
old, accommodation and meals will cost 100 euros.
Ø Each second attendant will pay for accommodation and
meals 100 euros.
o Admitted competitors must have the written consent of
the composer and lyricist regarding the assignment of copyright for
broadcasting during and after the Festival.
o Qualified competitor for the final phase without the
written consent of the composer (for various reasons) and who wants to
participate, will mandatory have on
a sworn statement which indicates that parents are obliged to pay any moral or
material prejudice required by the composer as to the interpretation of the
song in a contest without his consent - under the laws of copyright.
Recommendations:
o
the
songs should be appropriate to the age of the contestant, should express
concerns and aspiration of children;
o
evolution
should be pleasant, containing original elements and to instigate the public;
o
intonation,
quality, voice suitability, diction and vocal emission should be very good;
o
age
specific interpretative style of expressive melody and text content;
o
there
are not allowed songs of other genres such as: ethno, jazz, classical, classical,
symphonic, etc.;
o
outfit
should be appropriate to the age of the contestant and to the song.
The negative track support may contain Backing Vocal,
but it should be realized on a different melodic line than the one interpreted
by the contestant (especially in choruses).
Any changes of the Regulations imposed by
circumstances beyond the organizer will be communicated on
http://starsofsongromania.blogspot.ro, and on the Facebook page of the
festival.
